It doesn’t take long to feel the world fall away from you as you pull up to Signal House. By the time you reach the driveway, you’re hundreds of feet above the valley floor, with sweeping views of the Teton Mountain Range and all that lies below. Yet you are only a 15-minutes drive from downtown Jackson and 20 minutes to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Near the top of Bar Y Estates and nestled into the butte, this four-bedroom home allows guests to feel as though they’re in their own world - one of sweeping views and cozy, elegant design. All the while, the amenities and conveniences of Jackson are a just short drive away. The heart of the home is the great room, a main-level, open living/kitchen/dining area. Anchored on one end by a television-equipped sitting area, and an oversized kitchen island with seating for five on the other, this is a space to bake cookies, enjoy dinner, relax with a book, or watch a movie after a day of hiking, fly-fishing, or skiing. The kitchen is professional-grade, with ample space to prepare delicious meals on the four-burner, KitchenAid, gas range. Hidden behind the kitchen is a walk-in pantry that leads to both the laundry and mud rooms. Also off the great room, guests will enjoy a wet bar that includes a built-in wine fridge. Off the south side of the kitchen is a covered deck with a gas grill, space for outdoor dining, and stairs that lead to the back lawn. The main level also includes the primary suite, whose windows frame the same views as those seen from the great room - mountains and the sprawling valley floor, below. These views are no less spectacular if you’re enjoying coffee in the California king bed, but one could argue, that they are even better in the primary bathroom. Since the butte falls away from the home to the south, and there are no neighbors within sight, the bathroom has floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing guests to absorb expansive views from the deep, free-standing tub or oversized, walk-in shower equipped with no less than three shower heads. For those who must work while away, off the primary bedroom they’ll find an office with a wall-mounted television. The lower level has three California king guest suites, each with an ensuite bathroom, a desk, and windows that frame the valley floor and surrounding peaks. The lower level also includes a gym, complete with a treadmill, recumbent bike, and pull-up bar. Across from the gym is a sitting area with an oversized couch, on which guests may choose to curl up and watch a movie on the big-screen television. Artwork throughout the home pays homage to the local landscape and wildlife. There are photos of moose, grizzly bears (including the famous grizzly 399 and the quadruplet cubs she gave birth to in 2020), horses, and the Tetons depicted in each season. This home is a modern escape, offering the best of both worlds. It is secluded, yet connected to the happenings of town and Jackson’s major attractions.
